Old Town Lansing offers a range of things to do on a Sunday afternoon. In this section of town graduate students can find the nightlife, pubs, bakeries, local artists, and a beautiful view and walk along the river that flows through Lansing.

The Lansing Lugnuts are Lansing's minor league baseball team. The stadium, located in downtown lansing, offers cheap tickets to games and even cheaper beer. On "Thirsty Thursday" all draft beers are $2.00.

The Lansing River Trail offers bicyclists, runners, and romantics a beautiful, scenic eight-mile river trail. The path snakes from Old Town Lansing, through the downtown of Lansing, to the East Side of Lansing, and ends at the Michigan State Campus. Allen Neighborhood Center Farmer's Market (http://www.allenneighborhoodcenter.org/farm_market.html)
The Farmer's Market on Kalamazoo Street (located on the East Side of Lansing) is less than a mile from the main MSU Campus. Running from May 17-October 25, Every Wednesday from 2:30 -- 6:30PM the market offers affordable produce from local small farmers. The market is also one of the first farmers markets in the country to accept food stamps.

The East Lansing Food Co-Op ELFCO is the best year-round connection to local, organic, Michigan food. Member run and not for profit, the co-op is a friendly place with excellent produce.

Are you looking for a cheap free bicycle for the semester? Look no further! The MSU Bike Project allows students to borrow a bicycle for free for the semester. In addition, the Bike Project will teach folks for free the basics of bicycle maintenance, safety and repair.

The East Lansing Film Festival brings world-renowned cinema to Ingham County. The week and a half festival showcases new independent films and, in addition, it is not uncommon for the director of the film to take questions after the show.

Old Town Lansing Jazz Festival (http://www.jazzlansing.com/)
The Lansing Jazz Festival in Old Town Lansing is a weekend of free jazz artists, featuring performers from across the country and beyond. In the backdrop of the River and brick buildings over a hundred years old, performers debut original compositions in the warm evenings of early August. This isn't to be missed!

East Lansing's Great Lakes Folk Festival (http://greatlakesfolkfest.net/)
The Great Lakes Folk Festival in East Lansing, MI is a three day adventure of folk music. Artists from across the great lakes perform their folk, country, bluegrass music while area residents and visitors dance the weekend away. Local food venders offer a range of cuisine, from Ethiopian, Thai, and Mediterranean.
